Hi Everyone,

I have been searching the forum for which phones others are using and am supprised to find no condensed thread about success (or total failure) stores.. Hence this entry. (maybe it should be a new topic?)

It would be interesting to know what phones are being used, how well it is liked/performs and if you would recomend it, or not and why! All info would be be great, so we can see what versions of SW fit different vesions of HW and under what circumstances.

Please indicate if you use AGPS or true GPS or both...

Note: If you are currently having problems with your phone, please give it a good/best try to resovle the issue before flamming that make/model here. This is not a thread for fix requests or bug reports.

We all experience problems.. and no need to burn a good phone just beacuse the problem isn't currently resolved - on the other hand, if it is an insurmountable problem, then this is just the place to state that as well!

Thanks! Smile

Since I started this, its only fair I contribute also Smile

I use a Nokia 3110 (V. 7.21) with a 2G microSD, BT VisionTak 700 reciever. MGMaps v. 1.42.02a - it is working wonderfully! I live in Cambodia and often travel to rural areas that are not serviced by carriers and electricity is often optional. Simple is good, as traffic signals are not my concern so much as durabiltiy and function are. Its nice to know where home is! Smile

Samsung Monte (GT-S5620) using ver 1.3 generic and 1.4 for LG both work fine. No problem except that for 1.4 LG version the text is quite small (my phone is full touch and no keypad). If the text (menu) is a little bit larger it would be great.
Overall.... Great Very Happy

I have added a 5230 to my collection.. and after some playing (upgraded firmware to 20.0.005) got everything working fine. minor font / display problems, but usable.

Same as the 5800, have to start nokia maps first to kick start the inernal gps. (note, once started and locked, MGMAPS works fine, and maps does not need to be active, unless the phone is turned off then you must restart nokia maps to start the gps again)
