Downloadable cities .map/zip files sticky post?

I am not sure posting .map files
(or catch folders) of well known cities here for
download can be a legal issue (with Google?).
But having such a sticky will save a lot
of everybody's times, since we all have at least
1 or 2 cities in our phone storage.

People in OpenStreetMap is doing it.
Why don't we?
