Cell Tower location?

I have an old Blackberry Pearl 8110, GPS is either switched off by my cell phone company or simply not working.

O/S is 4.5.102
MG Maps v1.41.27

I have had Google Maps working on this and it was not picking up the GPS, but it was able to approximate my postiion based on cell towers.

Now I want to use MGMaps becaused of the stored map feature.

MGMaps appears to have the same feature (Settings > GPS > Cell Tower GPS) but I cannot get it to function.

Any hints?
