This is a feature I use a lot in the Fatwallet forums. As an example I'll use the Sprint SERO thread. It seems appropiate since that thread is the reason I bough my Fusic and am here now. The address is:

http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/680568/

There are over 3,000 posts on that thread. But at the very top and bottom of the page there is a "[TEXT ONLY]" button. That opens up all of the post in a separate window, of course with just text. Kind of like an RSS feed.

That makes it a lot easier to read and search for particulars. I spent a long time ready the Sprint sticky on this forum to get my Fusic's GPS to work, with some issues. I feel the info I seek to resolve those issues might be in that huge sticky thread somewhere, but I'm too exhausted from clicking through the thread 20 posts at a time. The search function you have is nice but only useful if you know what you're looking for. With a TEXT ONLY button I think I can figure out for myself what I need to do or what is or isn't possible.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am also missing the feature to search within a forum thread, that is present on other forums. This one is based on phpbb, I'll look for "plugins" (mods) these days and I'll install some that are particularly useful. The phpbb software seems to be very basic and does not support text-only mode, attachments or search within threads.

Done. There's a "Print" button available now for any topic that takes you to a "printer friendly" version of the topic and allows you to list all posts. See for example http://forum.mgmaps.com/viewtopic.php?printertopic=1&t=74&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&finish_rel=-10000
