Seems I am trying something I am not good at... Actually I finished the translation file and I messed it up with another unfinished file. And then I followed your suggestion to overwrite the en_us.lng so that the application select it as a default... and a lot of error message pops up and the app fails to load... anyway...

I have uploaded the file to the server, let me know if/how it works. Just install mgmaps then choose settings/language to switch to Chinese Traditional.

By the way, here's the file attached. I have removed the byte order mark, that was probably the cause of the problem.

Thanks very much Cristian, it worked by downloading from the server. There are a few problems, e.g. spacing problems/same text string sharing for different purposes, I will test and update my translation over this weekend thoroughly to ensure a quality release.

I uses Macintosh most of the time, do you have any idea which Mac text editor (is there a free one?) is suitable? So I could do the translation correctly in the future...

Sooner than expected, no serious problems. I am using built-in editor of Dreamweaver. Hope it's ok.

Right... actually this feature doesn't have to do anything with GPS, it just works over the internet (it can also work over SMS or bluetooth). The phone sends a request to the connect2car servers, which forward it to the device installed in your car.

OK, it's online, in MGMaps choose Settings/Language then "Update Check" (first option) if the language is already selected, or switch to english then back to traditional Chinese.

I found that the language doesn't change. Is that the problem of message# 289? I changed it from "English" to "繁體中文" (means "Traditional Chinese")

Should it only be "Chinese (Traditional)"?

Error Messages:
16:34:30.771: ERROR: EX: java.lang.NumberFormatException, DESC: Message file for language zt_cn could not be loaded, MSG: null

I think the problem is the use of Mac line separators '\r' instead of Windows '\r\n' or Unix '\n'... I have changed the file and uploaded it to the server, here it is attached too.

I'll use Notepad in my PC to work on future updates.

Yeah, I suspect notepad also does not save it correctly (it saves the BOM at the beginning). Dreamweaver on windows works fine, also Eclipse (the IDE) on windows works fine.

Hi Cristian,

I'm updating the Chinese (Traditional) version. It's very difficult to spot changes in the new English original version (1.39.12). Is it possible to add comments in updated lines so that we could find them one by one and translate?

I suggest you run a "diff" between the english version you used for the old translation and the new english version. For example, the old Chinese Traditional translation is for v1.39.09. Get english language files for v1.39.09 (http://www.mgmaps.com/lang/1.39.09/en_us.lng) and 1.39.12 (http://www.mgmaps.com/lang/1.39.12/en_us.lng) and compare them. If you're using windows, you can get this tool: http://www.grigsoft.com/download-windiff.htm.

One more thing -- you should always get the latest Chinese file from the server before starting to update it, I sometimes make changes and remove some unused messages or reorganize it a bit to make it easier to compare.

I translated the newest gmapmaker(development) to Hungarian.
I used Lófarkas's translation but not everywhere, and the new lng has new lines.

And made a Hungarian tile-na Wink
