Well, I can't give you an estimate... it's medium priority for now.

Well, I'll add support for searches and/or directions from Yahoo India when I add support for more sources. That involves some major changes in the server scripts, and right now I'd like to take more time into extending gmap-track instead. Also, Google may add support for india sooner than I work on support for multiple search sources. And finally, it could be quite difficult to support directions from other sources, as it depends on the format of those directions (if they were KML it would be easy, they are generally some different format).

Well from Cristian's post, probably someone can decode Yahoo india driving directions encoding (i guess this will work for Yahoo outside as well. Actually using Yahoo India mapsite, one is able to see Yahoo maps for the world outside India as well).

Regards,

Hi Cristain,

I have managed to create a KML out of Yahoo India driving directions. (Work In Progress Yahoo Pipe -> http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=WOylOh_13BGO1yyGTqoASA )

However, I was not able to display the KML in MGMAPS, either online or from storage. attaching the KML file for reference.

Yes you can.. Go to http://pipes.yahoo.com/spadival/drivedir and enter the From and To locations.. Then you can use "Get as KML" under "More options" to create a KML file.. This KML file can be viewed in MGMaps.

as we can see if u used the #?addr function would it not get easier and replaced every space with a "%20" symbol..i really want this 2 work out..but i cant understand your pipe at all

Thats because Yahoo India itself converts the place names to its corresponding latitude and longitude, AND then requests for driving directions. i.e. there is no way to request for driving directions from Yahoo Maps servers without converting to lat/long.

I generated the kml for Defence colony, New Delhi to Lodi Colony, New delhi without any issues -> http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q=http:%2F%2Fspadival.googlepages.com%2Fpipetest.kml&ie=UTF8&ll=28.584107,77.22805&spn=0.015601,0.028796&z=15&om=1

I typed the same way. In the "From" box , I typed Lodi Colony, New Delhi and in the "To" box, I typed Defence colony, New Delhi

Yes. Thats correct. Thats because India maps is NOT integrated with the maps.yahoo.com site. But, the whole point of the pipe is to create a KML file which has the driving directions. And this KML file is available OFFLINE (No need for internet connection) and is viewable in MGMaps. I think there is some confusion about the purpose of this pipe.

Dear Sir,

When The Kml Is Loaded on to mgmaps the software only shows the points without drawing the lines.

Is This Feature Already added in the newer versions?
