So you need only the street and place names? I can do this!

Once again the idea of "OfflineBot" is to extract GPS coordinates based on street names list. (example: from 1 to 7000 Front Avenue) It uses GoogleMaps API for now, but planning to add Maporama for Europe. |
Wait, you say you can extract street coord data from the online google maps with a script of some sort, and process that info to make it usable in mgmaps?
You need a clean street name list only? I can do that in 3 minutes flat...
Adding the range of existing #'s is a bit more tricky I guess but if you can do every street up to, say, 200, that covers most streets. If the nonexistent addresses don't cause a problem we're golden.
Yeah of course we have street names and house numbers like everywhere else (I think some arab cuontries are an exception but who cares).
I'll look for a full and up-to-date list if I can (supposing I'm getting you right)

It sounds like you make the post but never downloaded a copy of OfflineBot http://offlinebot.iroot.ca
Yes thats exactly what it does! it goes from ZERO to 200 for every street. And than under "Tools" you can edit your streets or build a "special" DB for MGMaps.
Thats why flat street names are needed.

City list is not needed, as you type it into the "City" text box
Filename: Budapest-streetlist.txt < looks ok except needed some replacement at the end of each line "I fixed it" and will post it for everyone at OfflineBot site later on.

Geeee, I think the interface was straight forward
Yes it only searches by city + street names for that city. Entire country would be too much.

I just don't usually run exe files of unknown origin and your website isn't exactly informative about what exactly you're trying to do here or what format input files need to be in etc. The download contains no readme, either.
Anyway, I get it now.

Dmytro:
you said "hopefully there will be no streets with the samer name" in each city,
I live in perth and there are lots of streets with the same name!
Can offline bot extract each street within that suburb? and then perhaps list the suburb as well?
good luck!

Perhaps you should edit your database and add the suburb/district/area name after the street name for all the duplicates (or all streets if that's easier). Search should still retrieve the address if I'm not mistaken, and you'd get an informative list w/ district info. This also allows you to easily look for a street in a specific area, all w/o breaking the database down into pieces.

OK,
we have:
123 StreetName
Suburb, State
I have a list of all streets and suburbs, Is it possible for offlinebot to take the streetname and the city in the text file? that way we dont have to keep changing the cityname and can do them all at once?

| Currently, Google maps does not support driving directions in India. So I guess there isnt much we can do with a list of street names for India?

I have now got a list of all street in Western Australia (basically half of australia is one state (province).
Is there a way of feeding the program a list of the streets and the cities
ie
Street Name : city name
or something similar...
would be much easier....

not really, I disagree.
Its way too much we are talking cellphone power here. besides its not like MGMaps is a Database server no it still reads from a file....and it is hard to do the offset reading.
Just have multiple lists for each city is simpler and than just type the city. You are not trying to extract the whole world with OfflineBot right?

there is over 41000 streets in the area im doing plus at least 50 suburbs.
all i want is the text file you feed it to find out what city the street is, instead of manually having to seperate the streets by suburb into seperate files and then for each file, type in the suburb name...
By the way, i am only doing one city "perth", but each street is listed under suburbs. So whilst they are all one city, each street is listed by tyheir suburb.
Should be too hard to implement in c#.
