Thank you, I have updated the language file available online. To use it, go to Settings/Language in MGMaps and select the Portuguese language or "Update Check" (first option) if the language was already selected.

No, there is no way to do that easily at this time.

If the language file were up-to-date, you would just replace en_us.lng with your language file in the mgmaps archive. But it's not up-to-date (neither of the languages are up-to-date at this time), replacing it would just crash the program as it would not find the text for all options.

You can make your own translation, see the beginning of this thread on how to edit the file (just use any plain text editor that has support for unicode/UTF-Cool.

Thanks for the translation... the format was still processed as ANSI instead of UTF-8, but it was easy to convert. Only thing missing (not that important) are translations for msgs. 385-387 near the end of the file. The updated file is already online (http://www.mgmaps.com/lang/1.39.00/fi_fi.lng), you can start with that, maybe your editor will know to pick up and save automatically in UTF-8.

Oops, have to look at that. Finnish language is not so easy to just translate the words, it has to be verified with the context what will be good and understandable word to put out... I'll be back to this after getting the latest version to work properly!

Let's put it:

385 = Lisää oma kartta
386 = Selaa...
387 = Osoitekirja...

Some other things like Connect2Car I did not translate yet since I do not know are the names used for also something else than just MGMaps functions. Is it something to do with Mercedes service with Google Maps, where they have "Send to Car" after generating a route with PC ?

Not really, it has to do with connect2car.com ... but those guys seem to be very busy at this time so I'm not announcing it yet.

Those are used for specific place types. Bounds are used for wikimapia places that are shown as rectangles and represent the rectangle bounds. Duration is used for direction results - the results include for each waypoint the distance and time to the next waypoint.

Wow what an instant reply! Thanks Cristian!!

I'm making my own Traditional Chinese translation, can I post it here after testing it tonight with an unsigned MGMaps? After your reply to my question, the last 2 wordings is also updated, and it is basically 100% translated! (including those haven't been translated yet in the original, i.e. Connect2Cars etc.)

I did it all over again because the original Traditional Chinese translation is quite different from our normal usage of Traditional Chinese. I hope it does not offense anybody.

That's fine, only the Simplified Chinese translation was (almost) up-to-date anyway.

Hi,

I have installed and am trying to use the IBM WEME to test my translation. However the mgmaps.jar file I prepared is not associated with any program. How can I test the .jar file here please?

Thanks for your help.

Put the mgmaps jad too, remove the signature if using the signed one (last three lines) and update the line including the size of the jar (MIDlet-Jar-Size).

Sorry Cristian I don't understand that, actually I'm a designer so I don't understand that language... I gave up using the IBM stuff but anyway, I have also tried to used the unsigned .jar and installed into my N95 8GB, and I can't choose Traditional Chinese from the language menu... What should I do now? Would you mind checking the installation file for me so that I could test on my phone?

Really thanks for your help...

If you want to test it, you should rename it to en_us.lng to overwrite the english language, then you don't need to select anything else (just use the english language). I can see you have only translated a few messages at the beginning in the file you sent, so I'm not going to upload it to the server yet.
