Hi guys. I've been trying to make use MaptileFE to make a map of the GTA for myself. I created a .map file using the mapmaker and I have it in the same directory as MapTileFE and MapTileCacher. When I open up MapTileFe, it sees my map file, I choose it, and then it says MapTileCacher can't be opened or found numerous times, and then quits. I've tried it with other .map files from here and I still can't get it to work. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
They're all in the same folder. I tried installing Wget but, quite frankly, I have no idea how. Every file I open from the wget download, Windows asks for a program to open it...

I'd suggest you use gMapMaker, it now supports all the features in the perl script and it's much more user-friendly. For some installation info, see http://forum.mgmaps.com/viewtopic.php?t=1116 and http://forum.mgmaps.com/viewtopic.php?t=725

You need perl (for instance ActivePerl) and wget. Some tutorials are available at http://forum.mgmaps.com/viewtopic.php?t=725. But it's much easier to use gMapMaker, just make sure you have the latest version (0.7.1 beta 4)

Hi!
How can I use the worldmap?
When I try to download the tiles with the word-mapfile (posted a few threads above), gMapMaker shows a error message (out of range or similar).
The same error, when I create my own worldmap with http://www.mapcacher.com/.
Any ideas?

are the maps of big cities available online somewhere?
since the map download is a pain in the ass it would be much easier to share it via torrent or rapidshare.
I am looking for tokyo.

They are not available, because sharing/distribution would be against the terms of service of the providers. That means I won't create or support torrents of maps downloaded, but maybe other users will...
